A redesigned production line built to keep product reliably in stock against rapidly increasing demand, without adding headcount or floorspace.
The challenge
With demand increasing rapidly and ambitious growth targets ahead, Platinum needed product reliably available from stock. That meant designing a new production line able to move away from a finished-goods buffer and maximise output from the same facility, with no additional resource.
- Rapidly increasing demand against ambitious growth targets
- Heavy reliance on finished-goods stock to guarantee availability
- Output needed to rise inside the existing facility, with no added headcount
The approach
Fluere assessed and mapped Platinum's production line to identify waste, then designed a new flow model around what it found.
- Mapped flow interruptions, handling methods, and the movement of goods and people
- Redesigned the production layout around the findings
- Created guides and delivered training to cut unnecessary movement
- Introduced dashboards to increase shop-floor visibility

The same hands-on, on-the-floor approach used at Platinum Stairlifts runs through every Fluere engagement.
The result
- A redesigned line that is significantly easier to manage
- A measurable productivity improvement from the same facility
- Practical tools handed to the team to keep improving and growing
“This is our first project with Fluere. The new production line they have designed is significantly easier to manage and has improved our productivity dramatically. Fluere listened to our needs attentively and worked with the team, involving them at every step. They have provided a holistic service, considered all areas of the production and provided us with the necessary tools to continuously improve and grow the business.”Richard Morrison, Operations Director, Platinum Stairlifts
Typical impact across Fluere engagements
